I'm sure many of you think Big Fish sounds like your "going to need a bigger boat". When actually, even with "Big Fish" as the films name, it's actually quite deceiving. The film is a very charming piece of work directed by Tim Burton and with a famous leading cast of Ewan McGegor and Helena Bonham Carter. "Big Fish shows a lot of heart and deserves to been seen to believe this wonderful fairy tail.
The cinematography plays a big role in the story just as much as the story itself.
The story revolves around a dying father who never had the best relationship with his son and is finally piecing together the stories his father had told him while he was younger. As the son re-creates the father's life he begins to realize the father's great adventures he's been on and the troubles he's had to face. It's a fun story and one that never has a dull moment!
On Reel Film Reviews, David Nusair writes how well the movie is paced and done by Tim Burton after his work on the new "Planet of the Apes" and his work in "Pee-Wee's Playhouse". "Big Fish" was made in 2003 and is almost pushing a decade since it's release. If you haven't taken the time to check it out or have never heard of it before it's definitely something new and has a lot of what Tim Burton is known for in his films.

I watched this film a long time ago when I was younger and was taken a back by it because of it's difference. I'm sure if I watched it now I'd have a different look on it, but even when I was younger I still found it very pleasing to watch. It's a great film for anyone of any age and is perfect for those Saturdays with the family!
You guys ever get the feeling that you just wanted to put your fist through someones face? Got so fed up with life that you wanted to tell life to f#$k off and suck it? Well then you might need to go to a couple anger management classes. But, for anyone who wants to have fun trying to find the goriest ways to kill people, then "Mad World" is the perfect game for you.
In "Mad World" you follow a bad ass guy named Jack, who is offered to go on a T.V show called Death Watch where you get companies to sponsor you to kill others in the most messed up ways and end up number one on the rankings. It's a lot like the recent film "The Hunger Games", except less girlishness and more roid rage! Oh also, did I mention he also has a chainsaw for an arm! Yea, Jacks that cool.
If they put Jack in "The Hunger Games", they wouldn't even have a chance!
The art style is interesting, a lot like a comic book with only black, white, and red as the palette that fills the screen. The voice acting is hilarious and well done, you can never get enough of John DiMaggio (Bender, Futurama and Marcus, Gears of War.) as the commentators for the show. The gameplay is varied and has a good pacing to it rounding out at about 6-7 hours of gameplay.

"Mad World" is a gory game and not for the faint of heart, but if you are a hardcore gamer and have a Wii in need of playing, then "Mad World" is just the medicine for your Wii!
"Toward the Terra" is a far future idea of humanity where we have already destroyed ourselves once and in order to stop it from happening again humanity has given all power to a super computer that controls all birth and life in the world. However a threat to the system emerges from the ashes known as "Mu" which are humans born with psychic powers that can resist the powers of the system.

The anime was created in 2007 by Keiko Takemiya and was released only as a manga from 1977-1980 and was released as a movie in 1980 as well. It was hard to tell if the anime was going to be a anything worth seeing, as the manga wasn't very popular, but based on the manga "Toward the Terra" the anime shouldn't be overlooked this time as it's nothing but a joy to watch!
Shadowmage on "The Nihon Review" explains the great parts of this anime and how it really is a shame as to how unknown "Toward the Terra" really is. It has everything you'd want from a post-apocalyptic sci-fi anime. It has compelling characters and does a good job pacing between the storyline of the main conflict in the world they live in, and the characters themselves. Overall, "Toward the Terra" is an absolute joy to watch and after watching a few episodes I'm really surprised to not have noticed this anime sooner. I'm also surprised as to how the manga wasn't very popular either, it's a very different and compelling tale that shouldn't be overlooked. Any of you Battlestar Galactica fans out there who watch anime will love this show too!

"The Post-Birthday World", was written by Lionel Shriver who was also the author of famous books "Double Fault" and "We Need to Talk About Kevin". Which for all you following saw one of Raging Ruff Reviews' Hidden Reviews was on the film adaptation of her book!
The book in a nut shell follows a women who is faced with a life changing decision and in the book shows what would happen in her life if she were to have chosen one way or the other. The decisions she makes is alternated between chapters. So, your able to see how both decisions end which most of us when we make a decision in life are left to wonder what might have been.
It's a good concept to set it up, but what really is cool is how Shriver explains both stories. She doesn't just make one choice bad and one end up good. There's no one cut right or wrong choice, both paths the main character takes shows her ups and downs. Sometimes even in both situations she ends up with the same type of solution, it was just all about her own personality!

It's hidden-review time folks and today I got a wonderful group that will make your ears sleep in peace knowing they've now heard this band, Voxhaul Broadcast.
They were considered "L.A's best kept secret" for years but they finally came out with their debut album after two EP's before, "Rotten Apples", and "Fact Fiction Turquoise". with the release of "Timing is Everything" in March of 2011, it was given good reviews but not seen far thought the country and eventually was only noticed by the hardcore.
Jackie Lam on Radio Free Silver Lake's website posted a quick rundown of the music style Voxhaul plays. I don't know exactly how to explain it, but for me it sounded a lot like U2 or Foo Fighters. I like the Foo Fighters a lot and that's why I really enjoyed Voxhaul.
Overall, I think if you haven't heard of the band give them a listen, you might find something you enjoy! So, today I'd like to post a great Xbox 360 and PS3 game that you can find a any Gamestop and not spend a dime over five dollars! Hidden below that old edition of Madden hides a wonderful third person shooter Dark Sector.
Dark Sector is a third-person shooter with a little twist.
In Dark Sector you follow Hayden Tenno, an undercover assassin, who is sent out to track down and stop a rouge CIA operative named Robert Mezner from selling bio tech on the black market and turning humanity into steel armored freaks. It's an interesting tale however it misses the mark in some place and gets lost throughout all the intense action Dark Sector is all about.
What really makes Dark Sector worth a purchase is it's sure fun rating. Dark Sector resembles gameplay from Resident Evil 4 and Gears of War. However what sets it apart is the introduction of the glaive. It's a nifty little tool that looks like it could be a huge ninja star. As you progress you gain new upgrades and become more powerful. The game also has an array of guns you can purchase from the black market as you progress through the story.
The glaive has a charge ability that can create cool ways to solve puzzles and kill enemies.
I'm not hear to explain the whole game to you hear. What I'm hear to do is introduce you to a wonderful review done by Turd Rocket Reviews. Yes, I know the name seem a little silly, but trust me, if you listen to this man talk he does an absolutely wonderful job. You'll be asking yourself two things after. Watchmen was originally a comic book written by Alan Moore and art done by Dave Gibbons. It was a very popular comic book that was based on the 1980's of America in an alternate reality that drastically was changed around the 30's by a group of people in costumes known as The Watchmen. Then the succeeding team of watchmen decide to carry the name and are known as super heroes throughout the city. However around 1977 the Hero trend started to become unpopular which rose the idea of outlawing superheroes.
Which brings us to the story of Watchmen, directed by Zach Snyder who is know for his work on the film 300. The film was well taken by some critics, but also taken aback by it's "R" rating, long run time, and it's different ending from the comic. However the film reviews were mostly positive and well taken.
So, you might ask why is it today's Hidden-Review? Well, for me I found this film to be a joy among comic book films and superhero films alike. I feel it was skipped by most people who weren't fans of the comic and it's a bit of a shame really. I do believe reading the comic does give a different point of view to look at, but even if you didn't read it, that shouldn't at all hold you back from watching Watchmen.
Bluntly is one of the more popular reviewer's on YouTube and does an awesome job of explaining Watchmen through the eyes of a fan that can emphasize with both hardcore fans and to new people who are interested in wanting to watch this great film.
